Day 49: Mancora, Peru

Sitting out on the porch and the hostel owner stopped by and pointed out the planets (apparently he is an amateur astronomer).  From this latitude, combined with the absence of humidity or pollution, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and Mercury, are all visible with the naked eye.

I went into Mancora today.  Nice little town trying to emerge from poverty.  The area is a party town for locals and back packers.  There seems to be a plethora of Brits on this journey.  Rarely do I run into an American.  Not necessarily a bad thing.  Heading down to Lobitos tomorrow.  It is another beach town, just 60 miles down the coast.
