Today was an epic day on the bike. Eight hours though southern Colombia. I started in Cali in 90 degree weather, and ended in Pasto, about 100 miles from the equator, in snow, well flurries. The scenery was the best of this trip so far, Much of the day was spent hugging roads on the cliffs edge (yes my acrophobia was kicking in), and passing through jungles, deserts, and plush rolling hills. The roads are much wider and emptier in this part of the country, which makes for higher speeds and easier passing when cruising through the mountains, It is enjoyable cruising along at 60, 70, 80, miles an hour as opposed to shift up, shift down, shift up, shift down at 15-35 miles per hours. I guess I am getting spoiled, all these roads have been far superior to those in Florida. This was my last and best day in Colombia, Ecuador here I come.
