First border crossing complete. The trip across was confusingly painless. No passport stamping, no vehicle paperwork inspection, nothing. Been through 53 countries in my years, and never have I been through a border, in this post 9-11 world, without being checked. Why do I feel as though this is going to bite me in ass on the way out the other side.
Walked around Monterrey today, and the place has a bit of a weird vibe. It took me a while a figure it out, but I think I did. No one was starring at me. My height (6'6") usually draws a glance or two, and it is even more pronounced here as the locals are considerably shorter than most westerners, but nothing. The locals are either very polite or disinterested.
Off to the mountains tomorrow.
